Paso High students will be able to wear flip-flops after all

Students at Paso Robles High School will be able to wear their flip-flops to campus when school starts, according to a revised version of the school district's new dress code.

The district had planned to prohibit open toed, backless sandals because officials understood it was part of the state education code, spokesman Sheldon Smith said. However, it turns out that language is not in the ed code after all.

Middle school students are still prohibited from wearing flip-flops to school, and they will not be allowed in certain high school classes like PE and industrial shop, Smith noted.

School starts August 25.
